OUR SURFACE FINISHING PROCESSES IN DETAIL

Every finishing system is specifically matched to base materials and mechanical, chemical, and climatic operating environments:

Electroless Nickel Plating (ENP)

Autocatalytic chemical deposition. Unlike conventional electroplating, ENP builds an absolutely uniform deposit thickness over complex geometries—including blind threaded holes, interior cavities, and sharp edges.

  • Deposit Thickness: 5 µm to 50 µm with micron-level contour fidelity
  • Hardness: 500–550 HV as-plated (up to 1000 HV heat-treated)
  • Properties: Outstanding wear resistance and low coefficient of friction
  • Substrates: Carbon steel, stainless, brass, aluminium alloys

Chrome Plating (Bright, Matte, Black, on Alu)

Electrochemical chromium deposition delivering high surface hardness and superior finish. We also master the specialized zincate pretreatment for direct chrome plating onto lightweight aluminium alloys.

  • Bright Chrome: Representative mirror-like decorative and protective layer
  • Matte Chrome: Glare-free, satin-smooth technical industrial finish
  • Black Chrome: Optical light-absorbing, low-reflectance coating
  • Chrome on Aluminium: Maximum weight reduction with hard chrome durability

MIL-DTL-5541 Alodine & Electropolishing

High-specification passivation processes developed for aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and medical applications.

  • Alodine / SurTec 650: Hexavalent chromium-free passivation for aluminium (electrically conductive)
  • Electropolishing: Anodic micro-smoothing of stainless steel (1.4301 / 1.4404)
  • Gold Plating: 24k hard gold for electronic pin headers & RF connectors
  • Antique Bronze & Rose Gold: Premium architectural and luxury hardware finishes

TECHNICAL METRICS OF PLATING PROCESSES

Side-by-side comparison of deposit thickness, hardness, and corrosion performance:

Finishing Process Typical Thickness Surface Hardness (HV) Salt Spray Test (ISO 9227 NSS) Primary Engineering Feature
Electroless Nickel (Mid/High Phos) 10 – 35 µm 550 HV (heat treated: up to 1000 HV) > 240 – 500 hrs Completely uniform in blind holes & threads
Bright / Hard Chrome 15 – 50 µm 800 – 1100 HV > 120 – 300 hrs Ultra-low friction coefficient, maximal wear defense
Matte & Black Chrome 10 – 25 µm 700 – 900 HV > 150 hrs Non-reflective, anti-glare, premium haptic texture
Alodine / SurTec 650 (MIL-DTL-5541) < 1 µm (molecular) Substrate hardness > 168 hrs (Class 3) Electrically conductive, ideal paint/primer base
Electropolishing (Stainless) 5 – 15 µm removal Work-hardened Highest passivity Eliminates bio-adhesion, cleanroom & pharma approved
Gold Plating (Hard Gold) 0.5 – 3 µm 150 – 200 HV Exceptional (Precious metal) Lowest contact resistance for electrical connectors
